Specialised retail. The biggest players expand into 2nd hand businesses

If Decathlon was a trailblazer with the Trocathlon fairs dating back to 1982, a cohort of online and offline specialised retailers are now expanding second-hand businesses, creating a trend called “re-commerce”. In Europe and in Japan for instance, Ikea’s clients can find an estimated price for used items on line. They can return old furniture to a store and receive an Ikea voucher towards new purchases.…
