The airplane industry moves towards plastics reduction

In late April 2019, the airplane company Etihad made a first plastic-free, ultra-long-haul flight from Dubai to Brisbane without a wasteful, single-use product in sight. The move is the airline’s first steps towards eliminating 80% of single-use plastics across all operations by 2022.
