Russians live on less alcohol. In the 9 months to September, Russian sales of alcohol fell by 1.6%, led down by whisky (-8.2%), champagne (-4.2%) and spirits (-2.3%) whereas cider increased by 2 digits. “The Russians no longer have the same consumption habits as before,” said Vadim Drobiz, President of the Alcohol Market Research Centre. In Q3 2016, retail sales rose by 0.8% in Russia.
